The White Horse Theatre again at the MGM
The pupils from the years 6 and 12 had again the occasion to watch a play live on stage performed by British actors in our gym.
The Slug in the shoe
On 11 December 2018 the White Horse Theatre came to the MGM and performed their play ‘The slug in the shoe’ for all year-6 classes. It is about the single parents Nina and Jack: Nina and her daughter Megan live next door to Jack and his son Adam. Megan and Adam are in the same class, but they do not like each other. As they find out that their parents are falling in love, they try to break them up with pranks. They almost succeed, but their parents find everything out and the story has a happy ending.
We think that the play was funny, and it was cool that we could ask the actors questions ate the end. We wish there could be more plays at the MGM!

What are we thinking of when we hear the word ‘protagonist’? Characteristics like individuality, wilfulness and courage instantly pop up in our head. In most cases these characteristics are related to male protagonists because men often play the main character in a novel or a movie. In the novel ‘Jane Eyre’, however, which was published in 1847 by Charlotte Brontë, the heroine also possesses these characteristics although she is a woman – or may rather because?
